Guide bushing

The flexible guide bushing for double-cone collets (JBS) was developed to guide and/or clamp material bars with varying outside diameters in a sliding-headstock automatic lathe, both while rotating and while stationary.

The flexible guide bushing is driven by a timing belt, a gear, a driver, or a synchronous drive.

The opening, closing, and clamping of the guide collet is carried out by a pneumatic system with an adjustable pressure piece.

The pressure piece presses the guide collet against the fixed spindle cap, causing the guide collet to close and enclose the material bar.

The advantages of the JBS system

– No more material seizing in the guide collet

– Guide collet runs synchronously with the spindle and adapts to the material during machining

– Adjustment range of the flexible guide collet: ±0.3 mm

– Fastest collet change: maximum 3 minutes

– The time-consuming and complicated adjustment of the guide collet is no longer required

– Trouble-free use with bar feeder magazines

– This innovative system makes the high metal removal rates required in form turning possible for the first time.

– Suitable for all materials: from plastics to highly alloyed chromium steels, ranging from ground to rolled material in accordance with DIN 1013.
